Benefits of AutoPot Self Watering Systems
  • Efficiency and Conservation: The AutoPot system uses gravity to supply water and nutrients directly to the plant's roots, eliminating the need for pumps, electricity, and timers. This not only saves energy but also conserves water, as the system only delivers what the plants need and when they need it, reducing wastage.
  • Self-regulating: The system's unique valve technology allows plants to self-regulate their water and nutrient intake. When the water level in a tray is low, the valve opens to let in more water from the reservoir; when the water level is high enough, the valve closes. This means each plant can take exactly what it needs for optimal growth, even within a system used for multiple plants.
  • Versatility: AutoPot can be used with various types of plants, from vegetables and herbs to flowers and small trees. It's also compatible with different growing mediums, including soil, coco coir, and hydroponic setups, making it adaptable to many gardening situations.
  • Scalability: The AutoPot system is scalable, making it suitable for both small-scale home gardeners and large-scale commercial operations. You can start with a few pots and easily expand your setup by connecting more pots to the reservoir as your gardening needs grow.

Best Practices

For best results, use a 50/50 blend of growing media and aeration materials and fully establish your plants in the pot by top watering for 1-2 weeks after transplant before turning the system on. A small recirculation pump can be used but is not required.

AutoPot works with Organic and Conventional nutrient systems alike, and can even be used in conjunction with amendments, top dresses, and water-only soil blends.

Compatible with most soil and media types.

See Grow Guide for more details.

FAQs

Will I need to water more with fabric pots?

Because our pots have improved drainage and aeration, you may need to water more frequently depending on the soil blend you use and the temperature. You can use water-holding soil blends to reduce the frequency of watering while still getting the aeration benefits of fabric pots.

What size fabric pot should I use for my Plants?

The perfect pot depends on the needs of your plant - we include the height and diameter of all pots in the description so that you can quickly verify that you have the correct root depth and width for your plant.

Shallow rooting plants thrive in 12-18”  root depths, and typically dont require more than 6-12” diameter in width to grow.

  • These tend to be leafy greens & herbs, but can also include potatoes and even broccoli!

Medium Rooting Plants will thrive with 18-24” root depth and around 2 feet in diameter of width.

This encompasses most other common garden vegetables, like tomatoes, peppers, carrots, squash, peas, beans, and some herbs like rosemary.

  • If you’re in a pinch, we recommend asking your local garden store or consulting reliable online resources

How much soil do I need for each pot?

You can refer to our soil volume chart for info on how much soil each pot will take to fill. Because bag sizes vary, we have our chart in 1.5 CuFt bag measurements, with yard measurements for larger pots. If you are unsure about how much you might need, you can send us an email at contact@geopot.com and we will do our best to help out!

How do I clean my fabric pots?

Cleaning fabric pots is easy!

  • If you are removing your soil for the season, empty the pot and remove as much debris from the pot as you can, give it a good rinse with a hose or pressure washer, and allow it to dry out. You can use a Shop Vac to remove any additional debri before the next step.
  • From there, you can soak your pots in an oxidizing detergent like OxiClean with some warm water and agitate by hand, or simply wash them in your washing machine with warm water. This will also sanitize your pots for future use!
